So, we’re less than 24 hours away from the NBA Draft and the questions remain – what will the Celtics do with picks 21 and 22. Will the stand pat, trade up, trade out, package a deal with existing players? Ah yes, the rumor mill is grinding at warp speed. So, let’s check it out.
Interest in Jared Cunningham from Oregon State (Celtics Blog)
Trade for Portland’s Jamal Crawford (ESPN)
Promise the #21 pick to Iowa State’s Royce White (Hoops Hype)
Maybe grab Syracuse’s Fab Melo with either 21 or 22?
Draft Austin Rivers and make it a father and son duo in Boston?
Take Washington’s Terrence Ross at 21 / Melo at 22 (CSNNE.com)
Take a couple of small forwards in Andrew Nicholson from St.Bonaventure and Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger (SI.com)
Take Melo and White (Jeff Goodman’s mock draft CBS Sports)
It should be very interesting as the Celtics, IMHO, try to operate with the premise that Kevin Garnett will be back and that Ray Allen is moving on. Add to it that we think Avery Bradley, Brandon Bass, Michael Pietrus and Chris Wilco will be back along with one of either Greg Steimsma/Ryan Hollins and you can start to piece things together.
