Epic Fail! Red Sox blow 9-0 lead to Yankees, lose 15-9

Amazing! The Red Sox build a 9-0 lead in the 6th only to lose it and see the Yankees score 15 straight and win 15-9.  Just an epic fail as Felix Doubront dominates the Yankees through six innings, giving up just a solo HR to Mark Teixeira and leaving with a 9-1 lead.  But, thanks to the entire bullpen, he walks away emptyhanded.  With no relief from Vicente Padilla (5 runs in a third of an inning) and Alfredo Aceves (five runs without getting an out) specifically, manger Bobby Valentine gets rightfully booed with every pitching change!  It’s time to end the Bobby V experiment, but first, a few notes:

* Kevin Youkilis had to leave the game in the fourth inning after being hit with a pitch on the leg and having a tough time running the bases.  Officially, it`s a left quad contusion.

* Cody Ross slammed a two-run HR in the the 5th to give Boston a 9-0 lead.

* Nick Swisher (6 RBI`s) slammed a grand slam in the 7th to close the gap  to 9-5 off  Padilla   Teixeira`s second HR of the game, a three-run shot in the 7th (6 RBI`s for Teixeira), leaves NY down just one, 9-8.

* Aceves was no better, giving up a Swisher two-run double in the 8th to give NY a 10-9 edge. Teixeira`s two-run double made it 12 straight unanswered NY runs.

* David Ortiz had four hits and a walk to boost his average over .400.

* Next up: Sunday night at 8:05pm vs. Yankees with Bard vs. Sabathia.  But thankfully for the Sox, it’ll most likely get rained out.
