Rays shutout Red Sox, 1-0

The Rays salvage one game of the four game series with the Red Sox, shutting them out Monday, 1-0.

* James Shields (2-0) goes 8 1/3 innings before Fernando Rodney got the final two outs for the save.

* Daniel Bard gets the loss (0-2), giving up one run on four hits while walking seven and striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings. Bard walked three in the seventh, walking in the game`s only run.

* Boston, who managed just four hits off Shields, falls to 4-6 while the Rays move to 5-5 on the season.  Cody Ross stuck out with two on in the ninth, an at bat which saw Rodney didn’t throw a strike, but got credit for the punchout.
