Bard fails to impress as Red Sox lose to Blue Jays

The Red Sox drop a 6-5 10 inning decision to Toronto Sunday in Dunedin.

* Starter Daniel Bard couldn’t hold on to an early lead, giving up five runs in six innings.  Bard gave up six hits along with three walks while striking out six

* Closer Andrew Bailey gave up one hit in his one inning of work which saw the Red Sox cut down a run at the plate on a suicide squeeze attempt by the Blue Jays.

* Kevin Youkilis sat out the game with back spasms.  Nate Spears started at third base.

* Mike Aviles and Ryan Lavarnway each pounded out three hits while Darnell McDonald had a pair of RBI’s.

* Next up: Monday at the Phillies at 1:05pm.
