LYNCH’S DEFENSIVE KEYS TO THE SUPER BOWL: NFL on FOX analystJohn Lynch weighs in on what the Giant and Patriot defenses need to do in the Super Bowl to stop the potent offenses led byTom Brady and Eli Manning.
Keys for the Giants defense:
“You’ve got to earn the right to rush the passer.  On first and second down, you’ve got to take care of business so that when you get to those second and third and longs, you can cut it loose and they do that as well as anybody.  The great equalizer in this day and age where everything is set up for the offense to have success is the ability to get after the quarterback and it’s really a luxury to be able to do it with your front four.”
Keys for the Patriots defense:
“The Patriots have done a tremendous job, but there are still weaknesses on that defense.  It’s been bend but don’t break.  So long as they tackle after the catch and don’t give up those big plays and limit the effectiveness ofBrandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, then it comes down to a red zone game.  Can the Patriots keep the Giants out of the end zone?  That’s going to be critical for them.”
