“THE NFL TODAY’s” LESLEY VISSER REPORTING FROM GREEN BAY ONGIANTS-PACKERS
(On Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin joiningteam after death of his son this week)
I just spoke with coach Mike McCarthy, and he said Joe Philbin will be here tomorrow, in MikeMcCarthy’s words, to participate.
(Tim Tebow Note)
Andfinally there is a Tim Tebownote.  Yes, the Packers are actually blaming Tim Tebow for the loss of theirundefeated season.  They said look what happened.  When Tim Tebow was installedas the starting quarterback in Denver, JohnFox traded Kyle Orton to Kansas City.  And what happened?  They beat the Green BayPackers.
►QUICK HITS
(On who has most pressureon them this weekend)
BOOMER ESIASON: But the guy under the most pressure hasto be Joe Flacco.  This week hesaid, if we win, it’s not because of anything I’ve done.  I’m paraphrasinghere.  He says you guys (the media) blame me, when they lose it’s all on him, when they win, it’s not about him.  He has a top three defense.  He has a greatrunning back.  He has a great opportunity to get his team to the Super Bowlstarting tomorrow against a rookie‑led Houston Texans.

BILL COWHER AND BOOMER ESIASON FOR AFC DIVISIONALPLAYOFFS WEEK ON JANUARY 14 & 15

►QUICK HITS
(On Tim Tebow)
SHANNON SHARPE:  Looking at what he’s done, taking a 1‑4team, getting into the playoffs, winning a playoff game and getting to thedivisional round.  I think he’s earned the right to go into Training Camp asthe incumbent starter.  But I do not envy the guy that comes in and has to playcompetition with Tim Tebow withthe feelings the way they have in Denver. The fans love this guy.  I don’t know if a guy can come in there and get anhonest shake at beating him out for the starting job.

DETROIT LIONSNDAMUKONG SUH VISITED SET OF “THE NFL TODAY’s”
BILL COWHER:  You know, Ndamukong, Coach Schwartzhas done a great job of changing the culture and mentality up there.  But foryou personally, a lot of the things that happened this year, I always saidperception is reality.  Does it bother you in your style of play that you maybe perceived as a dirty player?  Is it going to change the way you play thegame in the future.
SUH: I think the biggest thing is we need tomake sure that we stay physical.  That’s why I pattern my game after; beingphysical.  Being a guy that’s always attacking fierce and getting after theball.  It’s always whistle to whistle and making sure it stays there.  Andcoach Schwartz is a guy that emphasized not being that the Detroit Lions we’rejust laying down and making sure we continue to have that fight.  We got overthat last year.  Now it became our culture and just winning and continuing inthat going forward.
(On.ThanksgivingDay game against Green Bay)
JAMES BROWN: I understand the mindset that adefensive player has to have.  But that which is indelibly ensconced in manypeople’s minds is what took place on Thanksgiving Day when you stomped on theGreen Bay Packer player, and gave, what in many people’s minds was not asincere explanation after the game.  You talked with him.  What did you say? Let Americaknow how you feel now.
SUH: I had a great conversation with Dietrich-Smith.  He’s a great guy.  I gotto go against him the last game of the regular-season.  Had a chat with him. He’s a great guy.  I obviously made a mistake.  I definitely, without a doubt, understand that, and I’m held to a high standard.  And I love being held to ahigh standard.  I’m a man that I believe I can continue to uphold that highstandard.  At the same time, I want that because I want to be an example foryoung kids and I want to continue to drive and be an example to be able to befollowed after.  And everybody makes mistakes.  Just continue to learn fromthem and grow.
►“INSIDETHE GAME” WITH CHARLEY CASSERLY
(OnRay Rice’s contract status)
CASSERLY: The Ravens told me it’s a number onepriority to get him re-signed for next year.  I think his agent is going to askfor a big contract, north of $10 million.  If they don’t get a deal done by thestart of free agency, they will franchise him at $7.7 million.
