NBA TV gets Lakers/Rockets for Fan Night

Fans Select Houston Rockets @ LA Lakers For NBA TV’s First Fan Night Game Presented by Sprint of the 2011-2012 Regular Season on Tuesday, Jan. 3

Fan votes are in for NBA TV’s first 2011-2012 regular season Fan Night game presented by Sprint featuring the Western Conference matchup with the Houston Rockets visiting the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 10:30 p.m. (ET).  The first Fan Night game voted on by fans received a third of the votes that were cast via, NBA Facebook page and  
NBA fans have the opportunity to vote on, NBA Facebook page and for games they want to see televised nationally on NBA TV.  Fans can stay connected to Fan Night action all week long with information on NBA TV, online at and through live chats and Twitter feeds from select NBA personalities.
Prior to tip off, the Fan Night team with host Ernie Johnson and analysts Chris Webber and Greg Anthony will be on-hand for studio pregame coverage beginning at 7 p.m. (ET) which will lead up to the Pregame Show at 7:30 p.m. (ET).  The Atlanta Hawks will then take on the Chicago Bulls at 8 p.m. (ET) preceding the Fan Night game between the Rockets and the Lakers.  The Fan Night studio team will conclude the evening with a postgame recap featuring highlights from the evening’s match-up.  The GameTime studio team with host Rick Kamla and analyst Steve Smith will take over following the postgame show. 
Fan Night voting will continue on, NBA TV’s Facebook page and from Tues., Jan. 3 (8 a.m. ET) – Thurs., Jan. 5 (Midnight ET) as fans select the match-up for Tues., Jan. 10 between:
  • Oklahoma City Thunder @ Memphis Grizzlies
  • Chicago Bulls @ Minnesota Timberwolves
  • LA Clippers @ Portland Trailblazers
  • Phoenix Suns @ LA Lakers
  • Miami Heat @ Golden State Warriors
Tipping off on Tuesday is The Jump, a live, interactive show designed for the ultimate NBA fan.  Fans can submit questions and comments via, Facebook or Twitter.  Matt Winer hosts this episode with analysts Dennis Scott and Brent Barry who will respond and give their comments and analysis on everything happening around the league. The show will stream live on Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. (ET) on and air at 6 p.m. (ET) on NBA TV.  Chat-master Sekou Smith will return to The Jump on Tuesday, Jan. 10 and a new host will be announced in the coming weeks. 
NBA TV will also feature live games throughout the week with doubleheaders on Tuesday, Jan. 3, Wednesday, Jan. 4 and Saturday, Jan. 7.
